Our Philosophy

At the Theotokos Institute, it is our belief that the life of the Church is enriched when its members are actively engaged in exploring the roots and nature of their faith.

The Christian Tradition grows out of the revelation of the Gospel, but also the philosophical, literary, and artistic tradition that preceded it. Inspired by the exhortation and example of Pope Benedict XVI, we wish to contend seriously with this tradition and to understand how it remains relevant today.

In light of this, we invite all Christians - clergy, religious, and lay - to take up the opportunity for rigorous study and to engage face-to-face the questions posed by contemporary society, with the tools of the ancients.
