Certificate in Theology / Diploma in Theology
As part of the Archdiocese of Cardiff's provision for further theological studies, and accredited by the University of Wales, Lampeter's OLT programme, 2008-09 courses were run from Cardiff's Pastoral Resources Centre on the Christology of the Councils, and Christian Anthropology.
We will be offering further courses out of the Institute, beginning Autumn, 2010.

M.A. in Catholic Foundations (in development)
The M.A. is envisioned to be made up of 8 modules plus a 20 000 word thesis. The modules will cover such areas as:
1) Research Methods: An introduction to academic research and effective writing
2) Soteriology & Anthropology: We look specifically at how the Church came to understand the Person and Work of Christ, and the relation this bore to its view of humanity
3) Revelation and Classical Antiquity: An exploration of the foundational links between Classical thought and the genesis of the Christian Church
4) Movements & Major Figures: The Apologists; Origen; the Cappadocians; Ephrem; Athanasius; Augustine; Maximus; Cassiodorus; Boethius
5) Developments in East & West: A look at how Classical thought was appropriated in different regions of the Roman Empire
6) From Late-Antiquity to the Middle Ages: The coronation of Charlemagne as Holy Roman Emperor represents a turning point in Christian history
7) Councils & Doctrines: An examination of the nature of councils and the development of doctrine from a theological and historical point of view
8) The Liturgy: As the consummation of Catholic Faith, the Liturgy is probed for its history and theology
